of <h1>Foreign Trade Policy Amendment: Status Certificates Valid for 5 Years; Renewal Grace Period for Existing Holders.</h1> The Director General of Foreign Trade has amended the Handbook of Procedures, Vol. I, under the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009. The amendment specifies that all Status Certificates will be valid for five years from April 1 of the relevant year. Certificates valid beyond March 31, 2009, will remain effective if recognized by the Foreign Trade Policy 2009-2014. Existing status holders who have applied for renewal before expiration will have a six-month grace period during which they will retain their status unless their application is rejected. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
