of <h1>Foreign Trade Policy Update: Imports Must Be from Registered Sources per Handbook Amendment, Effective October 1, 2007.</h1> The Director General of Foreign Trade has amended the Handbook of Procedures (Volume-I) under the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09. Effective from October 1, 2007, imports must be from registered sources. However, imports with a Bill of Lading dated September 30, 2007, or earlier can proceed under the Pre-Shipment Inspection regime as per Paragraph 2.32 of the Handbook, initially notified on April 8, 2005. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
