<h1>India Approves Duty-Free Import of 50 Lakh Metric Tons of Wheat by April 2007 per Ad-hoc Exemption Order /7/2006.</h1> The Government of India has authorized the import of 30 lakh metric tons of wheat by the State Trading Corporation and 20 lakh metric tons by the Food Corporation of India at zero duty, as per the Ad-hoc Exemption Order No. 460/7/2006-CUS.V dated 26th February 2007. These imports, classified under Chapter 10 of the ITC (HS) Classification of Export and Import Items, 2004-09, must be completed by 30th April 2007. The imports are subject to conditions outlined in the Foreign Trade Policy, with previous notices remaining unchanged. This directive is issued in the public interest.
