<h1>DGFT Updates Handbook: New Rules for Lost Shipping Bills & Bank Certificates; Tamarind Product Code Correction.</h1> Amendments to the Handbook of Procedures (Vol. I) have been announced by the Director General of Foreign Trade under the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009. A new paragraph 2.62 addresses the issuance of scrips against lost EP copies of Shipping Bills, requiring specific documents and fees, with claims to be made within six months. Similarly, paragraph 2.63 outlines the procedure for claims involving lost original Bank Certificates. Both require affidavits and indemnity bonds from exporters. Additionally, a correction in Appendix-37A updates the description for Tamarind products under product code 08.621, with benefits applicable from April 1, 2004.
