<h1>India to Import 20 Lakh Metric Tons of Wheat at Zero Duty by Feb 2007, Ad-hoc Exemption Order No.31/2006.</h1> The Government of India has announced the import of 20 lakh metric tons of wheat at zero duty, as per Ad-hoc Exemption Order No.31/2006-Customs dated 14.08.2006. This import, under the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09, will be conducted through the Food Corporation of India by 28th February 2007. The designated ports for this import are Chennai, Tuticorin, Cochin, Vishakhapatnam, Mumbai, Kandla, New Mangalore, and Mundra. This measure is taken in public interest to facilitate wheat imports at zero duty, as specified in the relevant government notifications and policies.
