of <h1>Deadline for Duty-Free Wheat Import Extended to 28th Feb 2007; Applies to Public Notice No. 87(RE-2005)/2004-09.</h1> The Director General of Foreign Trade has extended the deadline for the import of 5 lakh metric tons of wheat at zero duty from 31st August 2006 to 28th February 2007. This extension applies to Public Notice No. 87(RE-2005)/2004-09, dated 9th February 2006. Additionally, the notice is applicable when the State Trading Corporation transfers the title of imported wheat to the Food Corporation of India on a high sea sale basis. This directive is issued in the public interest.
