Foreign Trade Amendment: Revised Export Rules for Sandalwood Oil; New Documentation Required for Merchant Exporters.
The Director General of Foreign Trade has amended Public Notice No.95(RE-2005)/2004-2009, dated 30th March 2006, under the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009. The amendment removes the word 'exclusively' from Para 2 and replaces 'manufacturer exporter' with 'manufacturer exporter / merchant exporter tied with legal / licenced unit / industry' for sandalwood oil extraction. A new requirement mandates merchant exporters to submit documents proving sandalwood oil extraction from a licensed unit. This amendment is issued in the public interest, and the validity for exporting sandalwood oil is extended until 31st December 2008 for the remaining quantity of 1143.5 kg.
