of <h1>Amendment to Handbook of Procedures: New Import System Effective April 1, 2006; Pre-Shipment Inspection Valid Until Implementation.</h1> Public Notice No. 30/2006, dated July 7, 2006, issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade, announces amendments to the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1) under the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09. The amendment modifies the last paragraph of Paragraph 2.32.2 (g), stating that the new import system from registered sources will be effective from April 1, 2006. However, imports with a Bill of Lading dated November 1, 2006, or earlier will follow the Pre-Shipment Inspection regime as per Paragraph 2.32, until the new system is implemented. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
