of <h1>Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009 Update: Nhava Sheva Added as Seaport; Streamlined DEPB Processing for EDI Shipping Bills.</h1> Amendments to the Handbook of Procedures (Vol. I) have been announced under the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009 by the Director General of Foreign Trade. The amendments include the deletion of provisions treating certain ports as single ports for import and export purposes. Nhava Sheva is now added to the list of seaports in relevant paragraphs. For EDI shipping bills before October 1, 2005, and non-EDI bills, licensing authorities must ensure DEPBs are endorsed with specific export details. Post-October 1, 2005, EDI shipping bills will be processed electronically without requiring prior verification for DEPB-related imports.
