of <h1>New Rule for Metal Scrap Import: Pre-Shipment Certificate or Full Inspection Required for Shipments Before Oct 25, 2004.</h1> The Director General of Foreign Trade has amended the Handbook of Procedures (Vol. I), 2004-2009, regarding the import of metal scrap. Metal scrap shipments arriving in India on or before October 25, 2004, that have not been cleared for home consumption must either present a pre-shipment inspection certificate as specified in Appendix-28 (Annexure-I) or undergo a 100% physical examination, as per Custom Circular No. 56/2004 dated October 18, 2004. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
