<h1>Foreign Trade Policy Amended: Restrictions on High-Duty Agricultural Imports & Edible Oils Through Designated Agencies Only.</h1> The Director General of Foreign Trade has amended paragraph 3.2.5(a) of the Handbook of Procedures (Vol. I), 2002-2007, under the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009. The amendment specifies that the import of agricultural products listed in Chapters 1 to 24 of the ITC (HS) Classification is allowed, except for certain items such as garlic, peas, specific vegetables, fruits, spices, tea, coffee, pepper, oil seeds, and natural rubber, which have duties exceeding 30%. Additionally, the import of all edible oils classified under Chapter 15 is permitted only through designated agencies. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
