Amendments to Export-Import Procedures: Deemed Export Benefits Extended to Fertilizer Plants and Power Projects under 2002-2007 Policy.

The Director General of Foreign Trade has announced amendments to the Handbook of Procedures (Vol. I) under the Export and Import Policy 2002-2007. Key changes include extending deemed export benefits to supplies made to fertilizer plants initiated during the 8th and 9th Plan periods and continuing into the 10th Plan. Amendments also clarify benefits for items imported at zero customs duty, supply of capital goods to power projects, and supplies to new refineries set up during the Ninth Plan period. Procedures for claiming deemed export drawbacks and terminal excise duty refunds have been updated, including provisions for brand rate fixation and related applications.
