DGFT Circular Sets Export Limits for Wheat and Coarse Grains for 2000-2001; APEDA to Oversee Distribution.
The circular issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade specifies the quantitative ceiling on the export of wheat and coarse grains for the licensing year 2000-2001. An additional 20 lakh metric tonnes of wheat is permitted for export, managed by APEDA and allocated to specific agencies including STC, MMTC, PEC, NCCF, NAFED, and MARKFED. For coarse grains, an additional 25,000 metric tonnes is allowed, with specific allocations to NCCF, NAFED, STCL, and other exporters. The exports are to be sourced from the Food Corporation of India's central pool. This measure is taken in the public interest.
