Handbook of Procedures Updated: Gold, Silver, Platinum Release Rules for Jewelry Exporters Revised Under Para 8.38.
The Director General of Foreign Trade has amended the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1), 1997-2002, under the Export and Import Policy. Paragraph 8.38 now specifies that gold, silver, and platinum will be released to jewelry exporters by nominated agencies or RBI-authorized banks in specific quantities: gold in multiples of 10 grams or Ten Tola Bars, silver in multiples of 1 kilogram, and platinum with a fineness of 0.9999. Remaining balances of these metals can be used with future entitlements. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
