of <h1>Import Rules Updated: Metallic Waste and Scrap Allowed, Except Hazardous or Low-Value Items Under Para 5.3(a) of Handbook 1997-2002.</h1> The Director General of Foreign Trade has amended paragraph 5.3(a) of the Handbook of Procedures (Vol. 1), 1997-2002, regarding the import of metallic waste. The amendment specifies that any form of metallic waste, scrap, seconds, and defectives can be imported, except for items valued below a specified threshold and excluding hazardous, toxic, or radioactive contaminated waste. This change is made under the authority of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, and is issued in the public interest.
