of <h1>India Allows Free Import of New Goods from SAARC Nations, Effective August 1, 1998, Complying with SAARC Tariff Rules.</h1> The public notice issued by the Central Government, under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, announces that specific goods imported from SAARC countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan) are now freely importable into India from August 1, 1998. The items must be new and originate from the specified countries, complying with the Customs Tariff rules under the SAARC Preferential Trading Arrangement. The notice lists numerous goods, including various meats, fish, dairy products, vegetables, fruits, spices, textiles, and other commodities, identified by their respective EXIM codes.
