<h1>New DEPB Credit Rates Announced for Leather, Writing Instruments, and Garments; Effective July 9, 1997.</h1> The circular issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade announces new credit rates under the Duty Entitlement Passbook (DEPB) Scheme for leather products, writing instruments, and readymade garments, effective from July 9, 1997. It supersedes a previous notice dated April 8, 1997. The revised rates, detailed in the annexure, apply to exports made on or after the effective date. The rates vary by product type, with leather products ranging from 3% to 13%, writing instruments at 20%, and various textile items at up to 23% of the FOB value of exports. This notice is issued in the public interest by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India.
