of <h1>CBDT Extends Filing Deadline for AY 2007-08 to Nov 15; Affects Sections 44AB, 139(1), 115WD(1) of IT Act.</h1> Due to technical difficulties in filing electronic returns, the Central Board of Direct Taxes has extended the deadline for companies and firms to file their returns and audit reports for the assessment year 2007-08. The new deadline is November 15, 2007, instead of the original October 31, 2007. This extension applies to the report of audit under section 44AB and the return of income under section 139(1), as well as the return of fringe benefits under section 115WD(1) of the Income-tax Act, 1961.
