of <h1>Excise Duty Increase on Pan Masala and Tobacco Products from March 1, 2005; New Accounting Heads Announced.</h1> The government has imposed an Additional Duty of Excise on Pan Masala and certain Tobacco Products effective from March 1, 2005. Until new accounting heads are established, these levies are recorded under a temporary account titled 'Receipt Awaiting Transfer to the other Minor Head.' The Central Excise Commissioner of Ahmedabad has announced the creation of new minor heads of accounts for this purpose. Trade associations and chambers of commerce are requested to inform their members about these changes.
