Allahabad Bank and Central Bank of India Approved for Electronic Indirect Tax Collections; E-Payments Streamlined Nationwide.
The Controller General of Accounts and Central Board of Excise and Customs has approved Allahabad Bank and Central Bank of India to collect indirect taxes electronically. These banks can accept e-payments for all Central Excise and Service Tax Commissionerates without specific authorization. For physical collections, existing Commissionerate restrictions apply. The banks' Focal Point Branches will manage both e-payments and physical payments, preparing Commissionerate-wise and Major Head-wise scrolls. E-payments for non-physical collection Commissionerates will be processed in Delhi. The procedure ensures revenue and bank reconciliation without altering existing practices until the Electronic Accounting Solution is fully implemented. Trade associations are urged to publicize this notice.
