of <h1>Guidelines for 2007-08 Marble Import: Licenses Required, Eligibility Limited, Set Floor Prices, and Import Ceiling of 1.4 Lakh Tonnes.</h1> The circular outlines the guidelines for importing rough marble blocks and slabs for 2007-08. Import is restricted and requires a license, with applications reviewed by the EXIM Facilitation Committee. Eligibility is limited to those with manufacturing units and previous imports. A floor price of US$325 per metric tonne for crude or roughly trimmed marble and rough blocks, and US$500 for slabs is set. The import ceiling is 1.4 lakh metric tonnes, with individual entitlements based on past turnover. Applications are due by August 6, 2007. Licenses are subject to actual user conditions, and monthly import returns are required.
