of <h1>India Revokes 2006 Ban, Allows New Trading Units in SEZs; Refer to SEZ (Amendment) Rules 2006 for Guidance.</h1> The Government of India's Ministry of Commerce and Industry has revoked its previous instructions (No. 5/2006) that halted the establishment of new trading units in Special Economic Zones (SEZs). This decision, effective immediately, follows a review of the matter. Stakeholders are reminded to refer to the SEZ (Amendment) Rules dated 10th August 2006 for guidance. The circular is addressed to various Development Commissioners and relevant departments, indicating a change in policy to facilitate the setting up of new trading units within SEZs.
