of <h1>India Halts New Trading Units in SEZs as Per Instruction No. 5/2006 Until Further Notice.</h1> The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, has issued Instruction No. 5/2006, dated May 31, 2006, regarding the establishment of new trading units in Special Economic Zones (SEZs). The directive instructs that proposals for setting up such units should be put on hold until further notice. This follows previous instructions issued on March 24, 2006, and May 24, 2006. The notice is addressed to Development Commissioners of various SEZs and copied to relevant departments and officials for information.
