<h1>India Lifts Port Restrictions on Sri Lankan Tea Imports Under Free Trade Agreement, Monitoring Tariff Rate Quota Compliance.</h1> The circular announces the removal of port restrictions on the import of tea from Sri Lanka under the India-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement, as per Notification No. 75/2007-Customs dated 5th June 2007, while maintaining the monitoring mechanism for the Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ). Chief Commissioners are instructed to ensure compliance with this mechanism and report import details to the Directorate General of Systems, Customs & Central Excise, New Delhi. The Directorate will track imports to ensure they do not exceed the TRQ, with reports being submitted online or electronically from customs ports.
