of <h1>Ahmedabad Excise Office Announces New E-Filing Format; Manual Filing Advised Until Sermon 6i Update Complete.</h1> The Office of the Commissioner of Central Excise in Ahmedabad issued Trade Notice No. 26/2007 regarding the e-filing of excise returns in a new format as per Notifications No. 22 and 23/2007-CX(NT) dated April 19, 2007. The new format requires separate indication of credit taken and utilization of secondary and higher education cess. The Sermon 6i software is being updated to accommodate these changes, temporarily blocking e-filing for April 2007 returns. Assessees are advised to file manual returns following Instruction No. 11 of Board's Circular No. 794/2004, with the offline version of Sermon 6i to be released concurrently.
