of <h1>Import of HCFC-22 Gas Requires License Despite ITC Free Status; Ministry Clearance Needed for Approval.</h1> The import of products containing HCFC-22 (R-22) gas is generally free under the ITC (HS) Classification. However, the ODS Rules, 2000 require a license for such imports. To resolve this discrepancy, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade will issue licenses for these imports if the Ministry of Environment and Forest provides clearances. The industry is advised to apply for import licenses, which will be considered based on the Ministry's recommendations. This directive is approved by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade.
