DGFT Clarifies Application Deadlines for DFRC and DEPB Schemes; Amended Rules Apply Post-January 28, 2004.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has issued a clarification regarding the time period for filing applications under the DFRC and DEPB schemes, following amendments to the Handbook of Procedure. Shipping Bills or Bank Realization Certificates dated before January 28, 2004, will be governed by the pre-amendment provisions, while those dated on or after this date will follow the amended rules. Applications previously disposed of under the old provisions can be reconsidered upon request, and supplementary licenses may be issued. This decision addresses difficulties reported by exporters and trade bodies and has been approved by the DGFT.
