of <h1>New Guidelines for Textile Imports: Exemptions on Pre-shipment Certificates for Certain Products Clarified by DGFT.</h1> The Directorate General of Foreign Trade, under the Ministry of Commerce, has clarified conditions regarding the import of textile and textile articles as per the import policy of ITC (HS) Classifications for 2002-2007. Exemptions from the requirement of a pre-shipment certificate are granted for imports of grey/raw white textile products and industrial products like transmission and pressure belts that do not come into direct contact with the human body. Importers must provide an undertaking to customs authorities at the time of import. This directive has been approved by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
