Imports Under Advance Licences, EOUs, EPZs, SEZs, and for Re-export Exempt from Indian Quality Standards.

The circular from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade clarifies that mandatory Indian Quality Standards, as specified in a previous notification, do not apply to imports made under Annual Advance Licences and Advance Licences for physical exports with actual user conditions. This exemption also extends to imports by 100% Export Oriented Units (EOUs) and units in Export Processing Zones (EPZ) or Special Economic Zones (SEZ). Additionally, imports intended for re-export purposes are exempt from these quality standards. This directive is issued with the approval of the Director General of Foreign Trade.
