DGFT Mandates Return of Original Bank Guarantee Post Export Obligation Fulfillment; Policy Approved by RBI and DGFT.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has decided that upon completion of export obligations and redemption of cases, the original bank guarantee should be returned to the concerned bank. This decision follows a request made during an Open House discussion with the EXIM Club, Baroda, and aims to facilitate the release of bank guarantees by banking authorities. The return of the bank guarantee will be communicated to the licensee. This policy change has been made in consultation with the Reserve Bank of India and approved by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
