India Caps Wheat Exports at 1 Million Tons for 1999-2000; No Limit on Wheat Products.
The Government of India has set a ceiling of 1 million tons for wheat exports during the 1999-2000 licensing year, with no quantitative limit on wheat product exports. The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is responsible for managing this export ceiling and must ensure it is not exceeded. APEDA will allocate the export quantities and report to the Ministry of Commerce once the ceiling is reached. Additionally, APEDA is required to submit monthly reports detailing exporter information, quantities, FOB values, and destinations to the Ministry and the Director of Statistics.
