of <h1>Central Excise MTR format updated: timely submission required, focus on pendency reasons, ranking system removed. Effective April 1998.</h1> The Board has revised the format for the Monthly Technical Report (MTR) submitted by Central Excise Commissioners, effective April 1998. The new format, developed with DGICCE, requires timely submission by the 10th of the following month, signed by the Commissioner. All sections must be completed, especially the 'Reasons for pendency.' The Revenue Analysis Report is now separate from the MTR. The previous system of ranking Commissioners is discontinued. Part-A addresses work pendency, while Part-B, an Action Taken Report, is prepared by the Chief Commissioner. This update supersedes previous instructions and aims to improve data utility and performance.
