of <h1>Deadline Extended for Disposal of Unclaimed Cargo Under Customs Act Section 48 to December 31, 2004.</h1> The circular from the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Central Board of Excise & Customs addresses the procedure for disposing of unclaimed or uncleared cargo under Section 48 of the Customs Act, 1962. It extends the deadline for completing the disposal process for cargo landed up to March 31, 2003, from April 30, 2004, to December 31, 2004. The extension applies to custodians in both the public and private sectors at air cargo complexes, ports, inland container depots, and container freight stations. Public notices are to be issued for the benefit of the trade, particularly custodians.
