Indian Honey Exports Face Scrutiny: Mandatory Certificates Lacking for Shipments Worth Rs 100 Crore Annually.
The Export Inspection Council of India has highlighted that honey exports worth approximately Rs 100 crores annually have been conducted mostly without obtaining the mandatory 'Certificate of Export Worthiness' from designated Export Inspection Agencies. Only a few exporters have complied with this requirement for consignments valued under Rs 1 crore. As a result, all parties involved in honey exports must ensure that shipments are accompanied by a valid 'Certificate of Export.' Non-compliant consignments should be halted, and past exports should be reviewed to ensure adherence to these requirements. Further actions on defaults should be reported to the Board.
