It concludes that these devices, despite using cellular technology, are not covered by this notification, which only applies to handheld mobile phones. The term 'cellular phone' is interpreted based on common trade parlance to mean mobile phones, not fixed devices. An amendment via notification No. 26/2003-Cus includes Fixed Wireless Terminals under a different category, Sl. 427. The circular advises against misrepresenting fixed wireless telephones as terminals to claim exemptions.
