Customs Eases ICD Export Rules: Goods Can Now Ship from Any Notified Sea Port per Notification No. 97/2003.
The circular addresses amendments to export procedures from Inland Container Depots (ICDs) following Customs Notification No. 84/2003. Initially, exports from ICDs were restricted to specific sea ports, causing difficulties for exporters. After reviewing the issue, the Board decided to remove this restriction, allowing goods from ICDs to be shipped from any notified sea port. Consequently, Customs Notification No. 97/2003 was issued to omit the restrictive provisos. The circular instructs the issuance of public notices and standing orders to inform the trade and guide staff accordingly, and requests acknowledgment of receipt.
