of <h1>Customs to Allow Transhipment Permit Applications at Ports on Saturdays to Address Trade Concerns.</h1> The Central Board of Excise & Customs has decided to allow the filing of transhipment applications and the issuance of Transhipment Permits at ports on Saturdays. This decision addresses issues raised by the trade regarding empty trains returning on Sundays and Mondays due to the previous policy of not issuing permits on Saturdays. Customs Houses are instructed to implement this change and inform all relevant parties through a Public Notice and Standing Order. Any difficulties in implementing these instructions should be reported to the Board.
