This change aligns with the liberalized foreign exchange regulations under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999. Business travelers can obtain up to $25,000 from authorized dealers or money changers without passport endorsements. However, for private travelers using the Basic Travel Quota, endorsements will continue due to annual limits. Customs officials will be informed to ensure a smooth transition, and authorized dealers will receive appropriate instructions.
