of <h1>New Guidelines for Software Imports in EPZ/EHTP/STP and EOUs: Process and Documentation Requirements Detailed.</h1> The circular from the Central Board of Excise & Customs allows software development units in EPZ/EHTP/STP and EOUs to import software via data communication, telecommunication links, or the internet, following RBI's approval for remittances. Units must submit their annual software import requirements and foreign exchange estimates for approval. After import, they must inform the relevant authority and obtain a certification of import and value. A Bill of Entry and supporting documents must be filed within 48 hours with Customs for notional clearance. Imports must be recorded for export obligation and NFEP calculation. Public notices should be issued, and any implementation issues reported.
