of <h1>CENVAT Credit Rules 2004 Update: Endorsement of Bill of Entry by Customs Officers No Longer Required. Public Notices Revised.</h1> Attention is drawn to previous public notices regarding the endorsement of the Bill of Entry for MODVAT Credit, which have been updated due to changes in the rules. The MODVAT Credit under the Central Excise Rule 1944 was replaced by the CENVAT Credit Rules 2002 and further amended by the CENVAT Credit Rules 2004. The new rules outline the documents required for CENVAT Credit and eliminate the need for endorsement of the Bill of Entry by Customs Officers. Consequently, Public Notice No.35/95 is withdrawn, and Public Notice No.85/99 is amended accordingly.
