<h1>SEZ Board Approves New Zones, Extends Validity for Projects, and Reviews Co-Developer Status at 49th Meeting.</h1> The 49th meeting of the SEZ Board of Approval, chaired by the Secretary of the Department of Commerce, reviewed proposals for establishing Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and addressed various requests related to existing SEZs. The Board granted formal approvals for several SEZs, including those in Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh, while deferring others pending further documentation or state government recommendations. The Board also extended the validity of formal and in-principle approvals for several projects and considered requests for co-developer status, changes in project area, and de-notification of SEZs. Additionally, the Board addressed requests for extensions of Letters of Permission and considered appeals and requests for changes in company names and equity transfers.
