of <h1>Finance Ministry extends Customs Arrears Clearance Month to July 1999 for faster drawback claim settlements</h1> The Ministry of Finance extended the 'Arrears Clearance Month' for Customs from June 1999 to include July 1999 to expedite the clearance of pending drawback claims nationwide. Following positive feedback from Export Promotion Councils and exporters' associations, the Central Board of Excise & Customs directed all Customs locations to finalize outstanding claims promptly to avoid interest liability. Customs offices are required to submit reports detailing cases resolved and amounts disbursed by specified deadlines in July and August 1999.
