Imports under DEPB Scheme allowed at specified ports with TRA from registration port per Customs rules
Imports under the Duty Entitlement Pass Book (DEPB) Scheme are permitted at specified sea ports, airports, and Inland Container Depots (ICDs) beyond the port of DEPB scrip registration, subject to issuance of a Telegraphic Release Advice (TRA) from the port of registration to the importing Customs House. This facility applies only to imports, not exports, and includes designated ports and ICDs where DEPB holders may import goods regardless of the scrip registration location within the approved list. Certain ports and ICDs are treated as a single port for this purpose, restricting import locations accordingly. Imports at other ports require the DEPB scrip to be registered at the same port. This circular supersedes all prior related circulars and mandates that Customs Houses maintain records of TRA details for imports under the DEPB Scheme.
