<h1>Imported Food Must Pass Analysis Under Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954 Before Customs Clearance</h1> Imported food consignments must not be cleared by Customs without prior analysis under the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954, to prevent entry of adulterated or contaminated food. Clearance requires a No Objection Certificate from Port Health Offices. Any delays in clearance should be reported immediately to the Board. These instructions are to be communicated to all relevant officers through standing orders.
