of <h1>DGFT Circular: DEPB Benefits Granted for Shipping Bill Conversions Approved by Customs Between Jan 2003 and Jan 2004.</h1> The circular from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade addresses the grant of Duty Entitlement Passbook (DEPB) benefits for free shipping bills converted by Customs Authorities. It clarifies that if conversions from free shipping bills to DEPB shipping bills were approved by Customs between January 28, 2003, and January 15, 2004, DEPB claims can be admitted. This follows a Delhi High Court ruling in favor of an exporter whose conversion occurred before the withdrawal of this facility. Regional Authorities are instructed to review and potentially admit previously rejected claims from this period.
