DGFT Updates SIONs: Reduced Import Quantities for Chemicals, Withdraws Ethambutol Norms Under Foreign Trade Policy 2009-14.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has modified Standard Input Output Norms (SIONs) A-2462 and A-2951 for the Chemical & Allied Products Group, reducing the quantity of certain import items due to improved consumption efficiency. Specifically, the norms for Cefixime USP and Sultamicillin Base have been adjusted, decreasing the allowed quantities for several components. Additionally, SION A-3331 for Ethambutol HCl BP/USP has been withdrawn, with relevant norms now referenced under SION A-225. These changes are made under the authority of the Foreign Trade Policy 2009-14 and its Handbook of Procedures.
