<h1>DGFT Allocates Cotton Export Quotas, High Court Orders Affect Distribution; 158,460.78 MT Remain Pending Final Orders.</h1> The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) issued a notice regarding the allocation of 170,000 metric tons of cotton for export, following Public Notice No. 55 dated June 17, 2011. After reviewing 581 applications, 227 were deemed eligible. High Court orders affected allocations, requiring DGFT to consider 82 writ petitioners, each allotted 100 MT, totaling 8,200 MT. Two petitioners from the Calcutta High Court were allocated 1,669.61 MT each, totaling 3,339.22 MT. This leaves 158,460.78 MT available for allocation. The allocation process will conclude by July 15, 2011, with further actions pending final court orders.
