<h1>India-Bangladesh MoU Boosts Border Haat Trade: Local Goods and Food Items Permitted at Meghalaya Border Markets.</h1> The public notice operationalizes the Memorandum of Understanding between India and Bangladesh, facilitating trade in Border Haats at Baliamari-Kalaichar and Lauwaghar-Balat across the Meghalaya border. It permits the trade of locally produced items such as vegetables, fruits, spices, minor forest produce (excluding timber), cottage industry products, agricultural implements, garments, melamine products, and processed foods. Vendors must reside within a 5 km radius of the Border Haat. The Haat Management Committee will clarify eligible commodities and allow immediate consumption items like snack foods and juices.
