of <h1>Extension of Inquiry Period to 90 Days for Verifying Present Market Value under DEPB Scheme Guidelines</h1> The circular amends previous guidelines on verifying the Present Market Value (PMV) under the DEPB scheme, extending the inquiry period from 30 to a maximum of 90 days. This extension allows Customs Commissioners to collect additional information or evidence when necessary, especially in cases where exporters are uncooperative or market inquiries are time-consuming. The show cause notice must be issued within this extended 90-day period. The amendment modifies paragraphs 6 and 7 of an earlier circular dated December 8, 1997.
