of <h1>Reappointment of Additional Directors at AGM: Section 173(1)(a) Applies for Directors Retiring by Rotation or Time.</h1> The circular addresses the reappointment of additional directors in companies. According to section 173(1)(a), the appointment of directors to replace those retiring is considered ordinary business at a company's annual general meeting. Directors may retire by rotation, efflux of time, or other means. If an additional director, appointed by the board under section 260, ceases to hold office and is to be reappointed at the annual general meeting, the provisions of section 173(1)(a) apply.
